Algae Peeling in Cascais
Cellular renewal with Ukrainian seaweed (Zena). A 100% natural peel that treats blemishes, acne, and signs of aging without harsh chemicals, integrated into a protocol designed for your skin.
What is algae peeling and how does it work?
Algae peeling is a dermocosmetic treatment that uses micronized marine microalgae (Spongilla lacustris) to promote deep biological exfoliation and stimulate cell renewal without the use of chemical acids. At Lourdes Estética in Cascais, I use Zena peeling, a 100% organic product with algae of Ukrainian origin, as part of a personalized protocol that I adapt to the skin type, area to be treated, and objective of each patient.
The treatment is indicated for blemishes (including melasma), active acne and post-inflammatory scars, enlarged pores, fine wrinkles, keratosis, and devitalized skin. It can be applied to the face, neck, chest, back, hands, and other body areas, always after individual assessment.
Zena algae peeling is a biological exfoliation made with freshwater microalgae (Spongilla lacustris), collected from a mineral-rich lake in Ukraine. Unlike chemical peels that use acids to dissolve the superficial layer of the skin, this peeling acts mechanically: the algae's microspicules penetrate the epidermis, stimulate microcirculation, and activate the natural process of cell renewal.
The result is controlled peeling that occurs between the 2nd and 5th day after application. Upon completion, the skin has a more even texture and a more balanced tone.
Step-by-step treatment
Personalized assessment
I analyze your skin in detail: phototype, sensitivity, history, medication, and objective. I determine if algae peeling is the best option or if it should be combined with other techniques, such as... Deep facial cleansing or the Dermaplaning.
Skin preparation
I thoroughly cleanse the skin to remove impurities and ensure that the micro-spicules penetrate evenly.
Zena peeling application
I apply the seaweed powder with specific movements, adjusting the intensity and time according to the area and skin type. The skin may feel a slight "sandy" sensation. This is normal and indicates that the micro-spicules are working.
Finalization and post-peeling protocol
I remove the product, apply calming serums and sunscreen. I explain the care to follow for the next 5 to 7 days and provide a home care plan.
Is an algae peel suitable for your skin?
Algae peeling can be adapted to various skin types and goals. In the initial assessment, I will analyze whether it is the best option for your case or if another protocol would be more effective.
Algae stimulate skin renewal and help to gradually lighten hyperpigmentation.
Antibacterial and exfoliating action without irritating already compromised skin.
Promotes texture refinement and sebum control.
It stimulates collagen synthesis and improves skin tone.
Removes dead cells in a controlled manner.
Revitalizing effect from the first session.
When in doubt, the first step is always an evaluation. I prefer to recommend a more suitable treatment rather than applying something that isn't ideal for your skin. Learn more about How to read the ingredients in your cosmetics.
In which areas of the body can it be applied?
Face
Blemishes, acne, melasma, fine wrinkles, overall revitalization. The most sought-after area.
Neck and chest
Sagging skin, sunspots, and horizontal lines that age the appearance.
Back
Back acne, blemishes, and uneven texture. A difficult area to treat on your own.
Hands and arms
Sunspots and rejuvenation. Hands reveal age just as much as the face.
Buttocks and thighs
Folliculitis, blemishes, uneven texture, and evening out skin tone.
The price varies depending on the area because the quantity of product and the session time are different. I determine everything during the assessment.
Why choose seaweed peeling at Lourdes Estética? It's different.?
A real assessment before deciding.
I analyze your phototype, history, medications, sun exposure habits, and skincare routine. If an algae peel isn't the best option, I'll let you know and suggest an alternative.
Can be combined with other treatments, at the right time.
Algae peeling cannot be combined with other techniques in the same session. The skin needs its recovery time. But as a pre- or post-treatment, it's the ideal plan for those seeking deep results. I plan the complete sequence during the consultation.
Sessions tailored to your skin type.
Some skin types respond in 1-2 sessions. Others require 3-4 sessions with 30-day intervals.
Sessions are not sold in packages.
I don't sell "packages of 5 sessions." I define the schedule based on actual progress.
In-home monitoring and plan
After each session, I explain what I did, why, and what you should do at home in the following days. Skin doesn't just improve in the treatment room.
What results can I expect from an algae peel?
Results depend on the initial condition of the skin, the area treated, and the number of sessions. I prefer to be transparent about what the treatment does and does not do.
What algae peeling does not do: It does not eliminate deep blemishes in a single session, it does not replace medical procedures for severe scars, and it does not have a Botox effect (it does not relax muscles). The most visible results appear when the peel is part of an ongoing and personalized protocol. Therefore, the initial assessment is the first step.
Real results in my patients
Each image corresponds to a personalized protocol. Results vary depending on skin type, area treated, and number of sessions.
Each skin reacts differently. Some situations resolve in 1-2 sessions; others require 3-4 with 30-day intervals. During the assessment in Cascais, I will be transparent with you about what you can realistically expect for your specific case.
